This is the MySpace page of the band named Plos. They sing in German, so I do not understand a word, but somehow I doubt it has much to do with science or Open Access…
What does ‘Plos’ mean in German anyway?

Bora, Plos has no special meaning in German.
http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de found nothing to match Plos. Maybe it’s the initials of the band members or some sci-fi or cartoon character’s name they liked.
I’m just guessing: in Bavarian dialect the pronunciation of the word »bloss« (transl.: only, just) will be more like »plos«, but what it has in common with the rapper band I don’t know.
Does anyone understand their lyrics – what do they sing about?
I have only listen to parts of their songs. But they seem to be a young boy rap band. They sing about love, and there is the medieval theme (hoellentorwachter = hells gate guardian) that seems to be popular genre in German pop culture.
