Take a look at Merlin Donald’s “Origins of the Modern Mind” (2005). As far as just-so cognitive stories go, it’s top notch.
I saw him on bloggingheads yesterday (with John Horgan) and found him quite intriguing.
“Show them the book!” LOL! Nice sell.
It is intriguing, though the science of it is iffy – a just-so story in the typical EvoPsych tradition (I am just waiting for Larry Moran to descend on it!). But I posted this video as an example exactly how to behave if you get invited on Colbert Show: Dutton was perfect!
