In the first anthology, Open Laboratory 2006, we included a poem by MissPrism, Waterbear Down. In 2007 collection, Much Ado About…The Brain? by Digital Cuttlefish made the cut. In the 2008 edition, the winning poem was The Evolutionary Biology Valentine’s Day Poem, also by Digital Cuttlefish.
So far this year, we have only these four entries in the poetry category:
Horatio Algeranon’s: Jabberbloggy
Neurotopia: Poem of the Day: #4
It’s A Micro World After All: Ode To My Peer Reviews
Suppertime Sonnets: In Which I Celebrate A Certain Member of the Lycaenidae Family
Tom Paine’s Ghost: Beyond Energy

I’m not sure if I had to click a special button but I consider my entry -Beyond Energy to be free verse -spoken word like poetry. http://www.tompainesghost.com/2009/05/beyond-energy.html
Thanks. Added to this post. Did not ‘tag’ it as a poem initially in my file. Sorry.
Hey Bora, No worries. Thanks for the add. Being part of Open laboratory last year really added a lot of steam to my passion for blogging I hope that it continues to grow and do the same for others.
While I’m commenting I’d like to mention an issue that I’ve recently become familiar with and hope to get some feedback from scientifically literate folks. Basically I want to ask other scientists what they think of in situ leach uranium mining as a technique and the environmental risks involved. Is this a case of overly concerned environmentalists getting in the way of nuclear energy or is mining uranium this way a real threat to public health? I have my own opinion about this but putting that aside what do people think? I’m not asking whether people are pro or anti nuclear power (that is a separate issue) but just what they think scientifically are the real risks associated with this mining technique. I’m interested because it hits really close to home. See my article about it here http://tinyurl.com/n25v68
