  1. That was amazing! Yeay for the buffalos!

  2. Absolutely fascinating. Thanks.

  3. First the HR dept. comes to make the kid redundant. Then he nearly gets taken by the management training scheme. then the union gets together and brings him back in the fold.

  4. This is an awesome, awesome video. In fact, there’s even a National Geographic doccie about it.
For those of you who don’t speak Afrikaans, you’re missing out on some deeply meaningful, earthshatteringly thoughtful comments in the background. Srsly.

  5. Talk about your rough neighborhood.
It highlights that the predators are not invulnerable to retaliation and active defense. A serious goring or broken bone is a death sentence for them. Not an improbable outcome when they get into a toe-to-toe fight with animals that are larger, heavier, and more numerous than they are. The lions, as well armed and deadly as they are, cannot absorb the damage that goes along with a protracted conflict and they wisely back away.
It would be interesting to find out, assuming anyone knows, if the calf that was captured and mauled survived and also if the lion that got tossed had any serious damage.

  6. Absolutely incredible video. Had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Even my teenagers, who know everything, have seen everything, and are not impressed by anything, were bug-eyed and slack-jawed. Thanks for posting this.
