Thanks to Heather for the heads-up:
Instructions for NIH-funded authors have been prominently placed on the PubMed home page.
There is a link to a list of journals that will manage the submission process with the NIH guidelines on behalf of authors – very handy! – as well as instructions for authors who publish in journals that do not provide this service.

What to me (at least) is immediately interesting is that whilst another OA “issue” has been largely dominating parts of the blogosphere for the last couple of days, this titanic vessel (PMC) firmly anchored herself at the biggest port almost (emphasis on almost) unnoticed.
Was that possibly a smokescreen placed before our eyes in a timely fashion (allegedly) by a TA(ll) Ship’s marketing dept. or are we now seeing a (slightly delayed) new dawn in the light of day?
I shall sleep on this (theory) although I would point out that given the number of people who log onto PubMed every hour/day/month – PMC is at last, quite literally before their very eyes.
Well done to everyone at PubMed.
