Just because they lie….

…does not mean we should. Actually, as their lying is supposed to be their downfall, we need to make extra care not to provide any contra-examples that they can use against us in order to immunize themselves from the charge.

    It’s called snark, There are plenty of diarists over at kos that use it, and that label their diaries as such.
    Perhaps the diarist did not make the distinction clear enough, as some commenters did not recognize the snark either, but it’s hardly a lie.

    Yes, but this has to be made super-obvious, so the other side cannot quote it out of context.
