Less than 100 comments to go. The lucky 10,000th commenter gets a prize – a choice from the Clock Store or perhaps one of the anthologies….

Why are we so obsessed with round numbers? This is ScienceBlogs for goodness sake! Aren’t there some numbers that are interesting for more reasons than being one followed by some quantity of zeroes? 🙂
Surely we’ve passed the mark now, if there were only 100 to go when you posted that?
… or maybe not, since the 10,000th comment will probably be in this thread…
Who, me? What? Nothing. I’m not doing anything. Why you lookin’ at me like that?
So is anyone sitting around posting a hundred comments?
I still haven’t received my prize for completing the sciblog survey!
First post!
Err, no… wait.
Gee, math is hard.
60 to go.
Round numbers. Depends on which science. From the point of view of mathematics, all numbers are equal. From the point of view of psychology, round numbers are important – that is why we even have the term ’round numbers’. They are cute and fun and they can be useful markers.
Wouldn’t it be funny if your 10,000th comment was also the one millionths’ comment on Sb. And the one Zillionth comment on the entire internet? (There is a prize for that, yes?)
Next one? Me 🙂 Each comment increases the chance of getting the prize, isn’t it?
